this is an old family recipe from a finnish college friend eaten on sauna nights. simple and straight-up delicious!
Finnish Fish Stew (Kalamoijakaa)
2 qts. potatoes, chopped
1/2 cup onion
1 lb. trout or perch
3 tbs. butter
salt and ground pepper
cover potatoes, butter, salt and pepper with water. boil until half cooked. add fish and onion. cook until done. you may complete the cooking in a slow cooker on low all day after adding fish and onion for a delicious ready-when-you-get-home meal.
